On April 26, 2018, United Way rolled out the red carpet with the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce and hosted a jazz-filled, Oscar-inspired evening at the Port Theatre.
At the Nanaimo Business Achievement Awards, 22 businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals received top honours at the 18th annual event. Award recipients were commended for their contributions to community growth and success.
We are enormously grateful to Bank of Montreal for making our partnership with the Chamber possible and to the Chamber for celebrating Nanaimo's best and brightest organizations.
We were delighted to present the award in the top non-profit organization category to The Salvation Army. Other deserving nonprofit nominees included: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Vancouver Island, Island Crisis Care Society, Nanaimo Child Development Centre, and Nanaimo FoodShare Society.
Did you know that UWCNVI donors are supporting 35 organizations in Nanaimo and area communities? Not all won awards recently, but the thousands of people they help each year are “winning” because of generous donors like you!
